Flood Relief for the Hurricane - Matt Voltz
WOM asked for donations for flood relief in their communities.  They raised over $21,000.  Used it for supplies, sent a shipment down last week.  They are planning another shipment, if you are interested in donating to it, please contact Matt form information.

Treasurer's Report - Bill Kremer
National has still not posted the bill for the Gala.
Net Total $15,844 (not including both lunch invoices)

New Committee Chair
Bob Berry has taken over the Programming Committee

Membership - Paula
If you haven't already registered, please do so.  
We request that you use the form on OUR website (link), as that has a method for us to get your local membership dues.  The national form does not do this.

UMR/Columbia Report
Rice and Beans banquet, Oct. 13.  Information about carpools will be coordinated on Google Groups.
UMR has 5 trips planned for this year.

Finance - Tom Lachajczyk
The first committe meeting was Sept 19.  Three main charters for the year were discussed:
-Plan a new Gala
-Find new fundraising Ideas
-Give guidance on how to use current budget.

The committe will be planning with Susan to see if we can use Florissant vally CC again.

Several ideas were presented for future fundraising:
-E-script - use at Schnucks to receive a small precentage of purchases.
-Ebay sales - selling recycled electronic equipment (old computers from work).
-River City Professionals - sponsor a night out at a resturant/club...helps to publicise
-Sales booths at civic activities (fairs, taste of st. louis, etc)
-Soliciting Donations - Ask for donations in a public place, schnucks, etc.

Honduras Committe - Scott K (Melissa is sick)
The first committe meeting was Sept 25.  The nearly complete report was reviewed, it should be going out in a week or two.  Will be posted on the website when complete.
Started planning for a follow-up trip to Santa Rita, basic goals are flow/tank measurement.
Assigned different commitee members various tasks to be organized before the next trip.
Next meeting - Oct 16, 7pm at Schafly Bottleworks

North Grand Neighborhood Service Day - Vicki LaRose
Oct 27, 9am
We will be working with the WashU chapter to help re-model an abandoned building so it can be occupied by a low income family.

E-mail distribution list, along with other options.  Everyone will be automatically added to the main ewb-stl group, and will receive meeting announcements, etc from this.  There are also several groups for various committes.

Use your current e-mail address to create a google account.  Gives you access to list archive, posted files, pages, etc.  Also allows you to specify settings, if you want to receive e-mail digests.  

WashU EWB's Trip to Guatemala - Dan Payne
Went to Antigua Guatemala, (attached presentation ) .  Worked with the NGO "God's Child Project".  
Presented their updated design for low-cost housing, making it stronger, lower cost, and faster to build.  
Worked on a sustainable stove design, to lower inhalation of smoke and increase fuel effiancy, the first prototype will be delivered Oct 15.  They are looking for help with steel fabrication between now and then.

WashU is looking at three new projects with God's Child, for their next trip.

Heating system


Next meeting is November 7 at the Engineer's Club.
