2.     Jonathan announced that the Regional EWB Workshop was last month in Ames, Iowa which he attended along with Matt Volz (Past President).  EWB-USA is launching Webinars.  The first is on water storage and distribution in developing countries.  Check out www.ewb-usa.org for further details.

3.     The EWB International Conference will be held March 2010 in Denver, Colorado.

4.     Gina Gansmann, Vice President, stated that an EWB Trivia Night fundraiser is being planned to be held at the end of February 2010 at the Engineers Club.  Details to follow soon.

5.     Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 6 – 9 pm is the EWB Gateway chapter holiday happy hour/fundraiser at the Old Rock House.  Cost is $12 per person ($10 per student) which includes appetizers, 2 drinks, and 1 raffle ticket.  This event is being held in place of the regular monthly meeting.

6.     Students from the Washington University chapter stated that there is a student group planning travel to Haiti over spring break 2010 to progress one of the student chapter projects.  Locally, the student chapter is participating in a Cool Roofs project in which roofs are painted white in St. Louis and environmental benefits will be monitored and recorded.

7.     George John, President, EDSI, Inc was the guest speaker of the evening and presented on his efforts in a community in rural India.  George and his work group are working to improve the learning environment for students in a school in India.  Two of George’s EDSI employees will be traveling to the school in late November to locate any underground utilities serving the school and set up bookshelves, among several other tasks.  The two, John and Brett, will hopefully be able to attend the EWB December 8 event to update us on the results of their trip.

Meeting adjourned.
